Apparently they make special tools to cut avocado. That’s all they do! They’re also great at hogging the “random kitchen crap” drawer.

Here’s the thing. When I want to cut avocado, I don’t really have the time to dig around looking for a special tool, not to mention wash it, dry it, and cram it back in the drawer.

(Of course I have one though. You can probably guess why I’m not allowed in kitchen stores anymore.)

I get it. Some things are oddly shaped and confusing to cut. It doesn’t have to be though. Have you ever watched the Subway sandwich guys work their magic on these bad boys? I’m not sure I ever got the avocado-slicing routine down until I watched how they did it.

On a related note, I’m really craving a BLT with avocado right now. 4th meal anybody?

10. Now it’s stuck to your knife. D’oh! Don’t worry, you should be able to easily pull it off with your other hand. If it’s too slippery or you lodged it on there too much, use the avocado skin as a “glove” to get a better grip.
